Here is Betty, a girl from China. I studied, worked, and lived in Shanghai for 15 years. After a decade-long career, I decided to take a long break for myself.

These questions have been on my mind for the past few years. So, I started traveling, meeting new people, and seeing different ways of living—constantly searching for answers. I’m still on this journey, and you will also become part of my answer.

Although I can be a bit shy, I want to push myself out of my comfort zone, meet new friends, hear your stories, and see a bigger world. I want to live a life full of experiences, exploring future possibilities rather than repeating the same script.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I chose Couchsurfing because it feels like a “life experiment”—a place where I can meet people from different backgrounds, exchange stories, and experience a more authentic way of living.

As someone who is a bit shy, I want to create an adventure where I take the initiative to meet new people. This makes my journey of self-exploration even more enriching.
Rather than seeing a place through the eyes of a tourist, I want to experience the daily life of a local—to truly understand the culture and lifestyle.

And, of course, it also helps me save money on my travels : )

To be honest, this is a tough question to answer. I actually enjoy all good books, movies, and music.

However, defining what is “good” is quite tricky—the standard is hard to pin down.

On my birthday, I traveled alone to Semporna for7 days to learn scuba diving and got my OW+AOW certifications.

Btw, the seafood there is both cheap and delicious!
