My name is Yara, Im 20 years old and currently in a gap year after one year of studying journalism. I'd probably go to uni next year, so this year is for me all about (re)discovering my passions, discover new places, learning new things and meeting interesting people.
Im planning to travel from January till may to Indonesia and maybe to Spain or Latin-America to improve my Spanish, but Im still open for anything.

Until then I'd love to host travellers in my hometown Utrecht. Love to show people around in Utrecht and especially reveal the the lovely, secret spots.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to avoid hostels and very touristic places as much as possible, because I want to be really part of a country. I think traveling is much more fun when your with locals who show you so much more than just the highlights of a country.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a lot of different kinds of music, especially world music, some electronic music, indie and jazz.
My favourite movie genres are arthouse, thriller, documentaries and tragicomedy.

Favorite serie is absolutely Narcos, the only serie I can bingewatch all day.

In terms of books I enjoy reading psychology and philosophy books and travel books like On the Road.
