Overview
About Me
My name is Yaroslava, I was born in St. Petersburg and I love this city with all my heart! Lived for a year in Almaty, Kazakhstan and now back in the city of white nights :)
I like to take pictures with my old Olympus camera, search for new cozy places and have long walks in the city center. On a regular basis I’m singing in a choir (we are amateurs but we are trying hard, check us out: https://youtube.com/@SuonodellAnima?si=GzNt0zRHlt7hMs8t), volunteering, learning new languages and just trying to enjoy every little moment :)
!!! PLEASE don't friend request me unless we've met, I’ll decline. There's no point in being friends if we've never talked.
! Also, I’m moving in June and don’t know when I can continue with hosting 🥲
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
“A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.”
It's really amazing to find out how differently people look at the same things! Usually I prefer to travel alone and meet locals.
Interests
Classical music, books, travelling (of course), photography, theaters.
Some random facts about me: I collect funny socks and plasters with beautiful prints (most of them come from Flying tiger — best shop in the world); my favorite color is turquoise and maybe that's why I love Van Gogh's Almond Blossoms painting so much; I prefer sunsets over sunrises and coffee over tea :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I love reading but I don’t have one absolute favorite book. Keeping track on Goodreads :)
Movies: "Lost in translation", "The Prestige", "Eat Pray Love", “Captain Fantastic”, "Inception", "Midnight in Paris", "Pulp Fiction", "Before sunrise".
Music: I listen to all kind of music but mostly to classical, indie and good old songs from 90s-00s :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went alone to Thailand, it was my first time in Asia. From that trip I grasped one thing: "Always do what you are afraid of".
What I Can Share with Hosts
Whatever it is you might need: a place to stay or a company for a city walk; a cup of coffee or a glass of something stronger; a long talk or a piece of advice :)
I know many great places in Saint Petersburg and Almaty, especially when it comes to coffee.
And of course I can teach you some Russian.
Welcome!
