About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy life. Try to work to live -not the other way around :)
ABOUT ME
I'm a person who likes to travel and spend time with friends. Curious and talkative.
Curious - about new people, languages and cultures.
- started the basics of Japanese years ago but forgot about it already.
- Pretty easy going and social. I'd say I get along with many kind of people. If I don't I just rather avoid those persons rather than being nasty.
- Lived in Germany for 4 months, in Spain for almost 3 years, in Sweden 6 months.
PHILOSOPHY
Road to a good friend is short even if he lived far away.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people and get new experiences. To help out fellow travelers. To travel when not traveling. Getting to know about my living environment through the eyes of those who are not from here.
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCH-SURFING:
I will offer accommodation whenever I can. In other cases I'm up for a meeting and showing you around and maybe going for a drink or two. If my couching status is "maybe" it is because I'm busy or planning to go somewhere myself. Get in touch and we will see :) Currently I share the apartment with my brother so I need to ask him as well about me/us hosting.
I'd also like to organize and join cooking / movie or other events with other "couchers" in my region.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's all pretty much in my references but for people I hosted see my old "Legacy CS -page" : https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/870307/profile/legacy
People who hosted me:
----------------------
Me and my friend used Couch Surfing in Kazakhstan, Astana where a Finnish girl working there gave us accommodation. Later on, nice Couch Surfers in the Philippines showed me around. Otherwise I have stayed at hostels and backpacker places.
Interests
Hiking/camping trips and spending time in a tent or sleeping shed at natural parks or hiking trails.
Trying out things like digi-scoping and watching at the moon with my astronomical telescope (from the early 80's) .
Listening to music. Anything related to music and fresh air, if these are combined, even better. Unfortunately I don't play any instrument, at least not yet.
Traveling. No need to say more.
As a Finn, Sauna -of course.
Moving (gym, swimming), at least enough to have a counterbalance to office job :)
Going out every now and then.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
The music style I listen to depends of the mood.
Music makes one's day at work pass by nicer and easier. Almost everything goes from folk to pop, rock, metal, jazz, blues, chill-out and so on. I'm not so into Hip-Hop but even that genre has some nice songs.
Movies:
In general I like movies, but no movie type is above another. Movies based on real life events are many times really good. Really stupid comedies don't really hit me but they go as well. Movies with sarcastic or other kind of humor go better. Documentaries, Sci-fi, horror, historical.
Books:
Witty and sarcastic humor, Terry Pratchett for example, Finnish Veikko Huovinen and Arto Paasilinna. Science fiction and horror. (Auto)Biographies, and books about traveling. Non-fiction books such as "World without us" and "Nothing to envy".
I also like to follow science news about new discoveries, health care development and what the space agencies are up to.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I shared a whiskey with Mr. Lazy Lester, one of the greatest living legends of Blues.
I swam at the Atlantic ocean.
I saw some black dolphin's when going to the Atlantic coast in Galicia, Spain.
Trans-Mongolian train through Russia and Mongolia to China.
I've been on a 2-seated ultra light airplane when I had 6 years of age - it was something I still remember :)
Teach, Learn, Share
When traveling it is many times a good idea not to go to the main city but a smaller village next to it and find cheaper accommodation (assuming that the connections are good and it is not too far away) ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to make food for my friends and cook together so I can cook or help with cooking, and of course wash the dishes. I can share my travel stories and tell about Finland in case you are curious.
