About Me

CURRENT MISSION

For three years I've been working with Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh as part of my PhD research at University of Toronto. I am sometimes in Toronto, sometimes in Bangladesh, sometimes in Chicago, sometimes in New Mexico...all pretty cool places. I lived in Mexico and Bolivia for 10 years. I can't stop exploring (even though I miss my home in Albuquerque!) and couch surfing has been a lifesaver, I enjoy surfing and hosting whenever I am in a spot to host.

ABOUT ME

I wasn't able to respond to a lot of requests because I was traveling! UPDATE: I am traveling again...from Albuquerque to Chicago to Canada/DC/NYC and then to Hawaii/Sydney/Singapore and Dhaka for 7 months for PhD research. I am on the CS search again for good vibes and friendly places to stay and chill out.

I moved to Toronto in 2016 from Baja California Sur, and before that I lived in Mexico City and Veracruz. I love exploring Mexico...the food, museums, landscapes, and people. I like road trips, beaches, dogs, good food, good movies and hanging out. I lived in Bolivia for 5 years, but I live mostly in New Mexico but I was born in Chicago. I love Couchsurfing, I depend on it for my travels and I love hosting. I will be able to host again once I am in Albuquerque, but for now, I am switching to "traveler mode."

PHILOSOPHY

Read books, listen carefully, be kind, have fun, do useful work, care for people you know and who you don't know.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All good, as long as we are clearly communicating and patient with one another. I love the CS vibe, and seeing how different cities and countries accept couchsurfers (or not). I have found Mexico and El Salvador to be particularly inviting, and I had such a hard time in Iceland! It was crazy! I am trying this out in Canada, I hope it goes well.
