Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Meeting new people; going on adventures; listening to, interpreting, and writing stories.
ABOUT ME
A fiend of all art with a fascination for cults, I am an aspiring writer and visual artist about to embark on a trip to Madagascar. Other long-term and temporary homes have included Montreal, Canada; upstate New York; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Ramallah, Palestine. If you host me, expect me to ask you a load of questions. I like listening, learning. I can also tell you about my experiences venturing into a UFO cult, hitchhiking through Argentina, and swinging sky-high on a Moonies property swing, among other experiences.
PHILOSOPHY
Do what brings you out of yourself. Strive to discover yourself as much, or more, than you do other people and places.

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to literature, I could rant on and on, provide list upon list, for ages. Here, let me limit myself to my all-time favorite writers: Vladimir Nabokov, Virginia Woolf, Jamaica Kincaid, David Foster Wallace, Jorge Luis Borges, J. M. Coetzee, Elena Ferrante...
As for movie directors: Lars Von Trier, Pedro Almodóvar, Wong Kar-wai, Ingmar Bergman.
And Music: Lhasa De Sela, Songs Ohia, Portishead, Bardo Pond, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Mississippi John Hurt, Neil Young.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I stayed with and learned from the Black Hebrews--a vegan, polygamous, community of African Americans moved from the southern States to Dimona, Israel. They see Israel as part of Africa, and thus celebrate two Passovers: the biblical one, and their exodus from the US to Israel.
I hitchhiked through the rural province of Misiones in Argentina. Along the way, many locals invited me to stay in their homes, where I was moved by their generosity, openness, and creativity. My longest hitchhiking ride was a 16-hour trip in a tow truck.
I tutored male inmates in a maximum security prison in New York state for one and a half years.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to produce the sound of a loon with only your breath and two bare hands and, thus, pose as a true Canadian.
I would like to learn to cook better but will be happy to supply ingredients, drinks.
