About Me

Energy. I love being on the move and feeling wind rush past my face. My favorite sport is Ultimate Frisbee, which you can learn more about here: http://youtu.be/zu0ogK2Fa9k?t=5m12s

Being active is one reason I decided to become a surgeon since I always get to be hands-on and operating. It also involves waking up at 4:00 am everyday, so I suppose it means that I also don't sleeping haha...

That being said, I do enjoy having time to just relax, chat, drink some coffee, read a book, etc. After all, I'm getting too old to run at 100% all the time.

I am from Texas. I think we are known for BBQ and cowboys. I can definitely take you to some of the best barbecue in the world if you ever visit, but you'll be hard pressed to find a cowboy. It's not all guns and tumbleweeds here. However, we do like our cowboy boots and trucks...the modern horse, I suppose.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel, I want to learn and feel the culture, and I don't think you can see that from a lofty hotel. A couch, I've found, is a much better vantage point to see what makes people laugh and cry. I used to want to do everything while traveling, but I came to realize that less is more for me. Just meeting new people, hanging out, cooking, and watching the stars are what I look forward to during a vacation. I want to see how real people live and usually find myself having the most fun when I'm wandering down streets and off the tourist map.
