About Me

If wanting to stay with us please note the following:

COPY-PASTE REQUESTS will be answered with a simple "no". If you could kindly take a moment to read my profile and time to WRITE A PERSONAL MESSAGE, its important for me that I have an idea of who you are and why you wish to stay with us, then I am more likely to want to make time to meet you.

We do not host people who are coming to use our place for parties, events. Nor for people who just want free accommodation. We love people who want to engage in the true spirit of Coach surfing and want to exchange ideas, food, culture etc.

Please read my profile and reply accordingly.

Our place has rules, read them with time, because we don't want to feel uncomfortable at our place just because you didn't want to read and accept them.

CURRENT MISSION
To explore the depths of the inner self and the outer world!

ABOUT ME
An inner world warrior, constantly trying to push my comfort zones and face the challenges life throws at me. Phew that was a powerful first sentence!! I love life, I love meeting people and I love growing. Those three things ring truest about me. I enjoy filling my life with as much laughter, silliness and adventure as possible.

Self development and growth is a huge part of whom I am. I love that stuff, talking about it, reading about it and doing it.

I love meeting new people too, someone that you connect with for a few hours, sometimes a few days and perhaps a life time. I love sharing stories over a good home cooked meal. Or perhaps going on an adventure to discover a great local restaurant.

I love charity work and trying to help others out. I have had the humbling opportunity to participate in medical/social welfare projects all over the world including working in orphanages, children with AIDs to doing education work in slums and with sex workers.

I am happily married to my husband (we are a gay couple - shouldn’t have to say this, but just to clarify :) ) incase you were wondering :D

PHILOSOPHY

I live to better myself and through that process hopefully make a different with the people around me. I live with the view to try and achieve something with my life and make a difference (no seriously i do). I also see myself as the eternal optimist, always trying to see the good out of any situation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and really immersing myself into deep conversation. I love exploring new places and sharing the joy of travel. I would also love to repay the kindness shown to me by other couchsurfing hosts.

I want to carry on with my back packing / home stays to create more adventures not only for me, but hopefully for the people I stay with

Interests

Gosh where to begin!! I am deeply into trying to better myself and hopefully the world around me, always trying to push my comfort zones and way of thinking. To that end I run a few discussion groups locally all centred around self growth, mindfulness and trying to become the best version of ourselves. I love the idea of meeting other people on the same path, as inevitably we end up finding some form of connection on a deeper level. Its amazing and synergistic

I love philanthropic work having traveled parts of the world to work with orphans, slum kids and sex workers on a range of different initiatives. I feel I have been given so much in my life by the universe and love giving back where ever I can.

Cooking is another passion of mine, especially vegetarian and vegan food. I love experimenting around with flavours and foods from cuisines around the world. If we meet we will certainly be sharing some recipe ideas!!

Please put the phrase “Captain Picard” as the first word when replying so I know you have read this profile properly.

Going on scenic walks that take your breath away, playing board games where there is a thrill to win, listening to modern classical music to allow the soul to soar to new heights and reading inspiring books that bring hope a rejuvenation are just some of my other interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess one of the most breath taking experince i have had to date was when i woke up one morning at the foot hills of the Himalayan moutains. We had arrived in the evening at Dharmshala (when it was dark). In the morning, i walked out onto the balcony, and i literally stood transfixed for around 2/3 minutes staring at the awesome beauty of the Himalayan mountains. I really was moved!

I have been meditating for 20+ years now so can share insights and techniques around that.
