I'd like to believe that I'm an adventures guy. My dream is to one day travel the world. I have been around a little bit, but my dream is to really live as a traveler.

I look up to long term travelers, as I believe that traveling is the one and only way to truly understand cultures and mind sets of people. Traveling is an eye opening experience but more importantly, a mind opening one! I believe we are all one. We are all the same; and whatever differences we have, whether it be culture, religion or ethnicity, we are all basically the same. The same things make us happy, and the same thing make us sad.

I define myself as a Muslim, Arabic, Jordanian man. I understand many people don't like labeling. But I have great pride of my background and on the other hand, I respect all people from all other backgrounds. Everyone has a reason to believe in what they believe, and it is always interesting to understand how other people from different backgrounds think and how they live their lives.

I welcome you, wherever you come from. I am happy you have chosen to visit Nepal as it is by far my most favorite country and I'll be living here untill 2022. Whether I have the honor of hosting you or not, I hope you have the best time here and throughout your journey around this beautiful world. Our time on earth is short, but experiences like traveling sure makes the life we live, richer and more beautiful.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a vast and wide variety of favorite music. My flavor changes with time though! right now I am into electronic, chill music.

I prefer drama movies that are based on real stories, especially stories I can relate to. I also have a sweet spot for travel movies and documentaries.

Unfortunately, I am not much of a book reader. But I enjoy travel novels most.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving a scooter at 2 am on my way back from Kathmandu to Kakani; A village 20 Km north east of Kathmandu, Nepal. It was a very rainy night in the monsoon season of Nepal. Rural Roads where broken down from the rain, land slides every couple of minutes on those beautiful twisty roads. On your left was a steep hill of dense tropical forests and on your right, a very steep fall to a valley. One slip of the scooter tires would have ended my journey and most likely my life!

So here I am, (High as f***), Joy filling my heart from having such a thrilling experience, an experience I have been postponing since I was 16. Driving up an empty road. I couldn't understand why the roads in the forests where completely empty after sunset untill that night!

It was a Chinese 125cc scooter (with all due respect to Chinese scooters ;)), and I was 220 pounds at the time (110 Kg) which really did not help! The light of the scooter where so dim, I only had 20 meters or less in visibilty due to the heavy monsoon rains. And there he is! Crossing the muddy, slippery road! A huge, golden tiger just appeared from the heavy forest to my left, and yes, he was crossing the damn road!

I remember thinking to myself in that split second, I can either stop the scooter, turn around and drive away. Which will take too long and will end me up in the stomach of that beautiful monster! Or, I could just keep on driving on maximum speed (20Km/h!) and just keep the momentum and pass by next to him.

I went with the second choice not knowing what to expect! It seemed like my only logical choice at the time. So by the time I reached the tiger, He had reached the other side of the 4 meter road. He was not in a rush, it seemed like he had all the time in the world! And as I was passing right next to him, only 1 meter apart, he was turning his face and his whole body towards me. I was going full throttle, but still at 20 km per hour.

For the first 5 minutes, I never looked back. Not even for a glimpse. I was so afraid he will be running towards me. But after 5 minutes I had so much fear, I had to look back, my body and my mind was in shock! I had to look back just to ease my fear. And that's exactly what I did! Little did I know I was approaching a very sharp turn! there was no tiger running after me. I turn my head back straight and I freak out when I see that steep drop in front of me! It was so muddy, I almost slipped. after crossing that sharp turn I figured I would rather be killed honorably by a tiger, rather than being killed from a scooter accident! That is when I decided to drive slowly, and whatever happens happens.

I reached the little hotel in the village of Kakani that night. But the gates where closed and their where fierce dogs guarding the gates and everyone was sleeping. I couldn't go in! I had to spend that lonely rainy night outside, on the road, and just 5 Km of where I had just met that huge tiger. least I could say, It was a very very lonely and scary night.

Next morning they let me in the hotel. So I tell them my beautiful experience expecting no one to believe me of course! But they strangely do. So I as them if this has ever happened at all in the past to anyone from that area. They say yes! and some people have been killed by tigers in the past! I was furious but joyfully so, I asked why they haven't told me not drive at night!

I received no answer! but I had a great story to tell and an experience I will be always grateful to have experienced!
