About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Are you a conversationalist? We should meet!
ABOUT ME
I'm crazy. There, now no one else needs to say it, got it out there for you. It's all relative, really. You think you're sane, I think you're crazy, vice versa, etc.
PHILOSOPHY
Making mistakes is how we learn.-----Life isn't just a bowl of a handful of colors of M&M's, it's quite a bit more complex and diverse...yet simple. (Have I contradicted myself yet? Possible.) Black and white are only applicable for a few short moments, but in the long haul, looking back, we realize how much color there is in this universe. What? Too much Existentialism? Nah!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Honestly? I'm so new at this, I feel totally like a fish out of water. So I guess I'll just talk to myself for the time being.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
At this particular moment, as my fingers move about the, rather annoyingly silent, keyboard, zero experience.
Methinks that will change soon.
Interests
Anything and everything. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but one day.
- fish
- coloring
- traveling
- fishing
Music, Movies, and Books
I have an ear/eye/imagination for Sci-Fi and Fantasy. I've never read the Harry Potter series, and only saw the first two movies, but I think I'd like them. And when it comes to the genres, I'm still somewhat picky. Basically, I like whatever I like, as redundant and incomplete as that is.
Books: The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss (third book isn't out yet) | Ringworld (Larry Niven) | Nightfall (Isaac Asimov)
Music: Electronica of many sorts, and yes, I'm liking a lot of Dubstep (the video game community has a large influence on these things, apparently)
Movies: Pitch Black | Contact | Independence Day
Obviously my list is incomplete. C'mon, we're talking about incredibly subjective interests that could be expanded upon for days...my memory isn't good for stuff like that!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Starting Monday, November 21, 2011, I will travel across the US utilizing Greyhound's 60-day Discovery Pass. I've been virtually nowhere within the US, and I might as well go wherever I can in that time.Who knows what will happen by the end of such a trip?-----At this point in my travels, I've managed to visit:El PasoAlbuquerqueFlagstaff (and the Grand Canyon!)Las VegasLos AngelesSan FranciscoDenverNew YorkAnd now I'm on my way to Miami. It's all been relatively brief, but exhilarating!
Teach, Learn, Share
Not one for labels, but if you were to pin one on me, I'd say I was a Practical Applicationist (shut up, it's a word! ...that I just made up). Learning, observing, conversing, and then using those activities in everyday situations.
