About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am an outdoorsman at heart. I love being surrounded by woods, water, and wilderness. As a current volunteer, I want to explore all the East Coast has to offer on a shoestring budget.

ABOUT ME

I was born in God's country: the Pacific Northwest in 1984 and the rest is history. I'm in Boston doing volunteer work right now because otherwise I might not ever move out of my little part of the world. I have grown to love my adopted city though and am trying to enjoying my time here to the fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't CouchSurfed yet, but I have gotten to know the CouchSurfing community in Boston. They are a great group of people and they make me very excited to participate when I do get the chance.

Interests

I love being outside whenever possible. I try to run as much as I can, I go hiking and camping on a semi-regular basis. I love reading (it passes time on the T) and hanging out with friends. I'm also a great fan of learning a city through it's food and drink, there's no better way!

Music, Movies, and Books

My list of favorite authors is wide and varied: Orwell, Vonnegut, Steinbeck, Dahl, Rand, Kerouac, etc. etc. etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking the Olympic Mountains in the Summer of 2006 was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. Myself and two great friends took a cavelier attitude to hiking to many scenic locations throughout the park. A sunset hike to the top of Gladys Divide has been one of the most cherished memories to date. It's hard to describe the beauty that was seen at the top of that mountain.
