About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Doing my best to lead a fulfilled life... wherever, however and with whomever.

ABOUT ME

Since graduating college (3 years ago) I have found myself traveling a lot and working outdoor seasonal jobs here in the US. Work has had me living out of my tent in Montana, and living in a little cabin in SE Alaska. I cherish my memories from these places.

When not working, I enjoy backpacking. Slow moving international travel is my favorite pastime.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything might not happen for a reason, but everything will always be alright.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf, hope to host in the future, and I always tell good folks about it that I meet on the road.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only couchsurfed a few times, but every experience has been positive. I am really looking forward to hosting at one point, and that time may be approaching as I am moving to Xi'an and will finally have my own place, in a real-life city! (usually I'm traveling or living in the woods somewhere).

Interests

Reading all sorts of books lately, but I usually try to stick to things with "literary value". I guess this just means I avoid shitty romance novels and adventure-page-turners. I just learned to fly fish this season. I enjoy a good movie, a good hike, a good vista, a good drunk, and always good company.

Avatar (IMAX 3d)!, Big Lebowski, Garden State, Dumb and Dumber, Blood Diamond, Gladiator, Scary Movie 2, Eternal Sunshine

Narcissus and Goldmund, The Fountainhead, East of Eden, Exodus, Crime and Punishment, the Sun Also Rises, Illusions, Lord of the Rings Trilogy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am most proud of living in the wilderness with my trail crew for 5 months, but a classic night while there was when I stayed in a lookout tower one night with my buddy after they had shut it down for season. We saw the sunset while getting drunk off of Port and beer (which we hiked up the mountain) and reflected on our season. It was a memorable night.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn how to cook international cuisine.

I can help organize an awesome hike somewhere... if you want to go on one I would love to help get the supplies and embark on a journey.

I can offer up very basic guitar lessons too.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Fiji, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Laos, Mexico, New Zealand, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, United States
