Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting to know people and places. I love to explore unknown places and people's minds. I also like to teach people about things I know and places I have been.
ABOUT ME
I have worked in food service most of my life. It allows me ample time off to travel, and food is an important part of traveling. I think the best way to get to know a new culture is to sit down with the local people and eat local food. I take lots of photos of food.
PHILOSOPHY
I am definitely a liberal, and do not subscribe to any religion. My favorite expression is "What goes around, comes around".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I wish I had been able to be a surfer when I was younger. I think it is an amazing way to communicate with and teach a younger generation about the world. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and showing people around Yellowstone.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted 8 surfers so far this summer, from 5 different countries. Every experience has been surprisingly positive. I will try to do some surfing myself once the summer season is over in Yellowstone.
Interests
Traveling. I like maps. I am a Geo-Cacher. I like to hike, but no overnight hikes anymore. I like to car camp, and cook outside. Movies, Politics, and Food are my favorite things. I also enjoy Nevada casinos.

Music, Movies, and Books
Comedies and drama films. Independent and International films. History books. Non-fiction. All music from 1940s- to the present. BUT classical music is the most inspirational.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I served lunch to President Obama and his family last year when they visited Yellowstone.
Teach, Learn, Share
Yellowstone is one of the last eco-systems in the world, that has all the original species still intact. A marvelous preserve of a natural environment, but one that is open and available for exploration and observation. It is a great mixture of fun and learning. On the Roosevelt Arch at the north entrance station, is carved this motto: FOR THE BENEFIT AND ENJOYMENT OF THE PEOPLE. This is a difficult balance to maintain: preserving the wildlife habitat while providing educational and recreational opportunities for humans.
