About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience Australia to the fullest, meet amazing new people, and do it all for fairly cheap!

ABOUT ME

Oh wow, it's always hard to define myself in just one little box. Especially when I'm not sure who I am yet (how corny do I sound right now?). Anyway, I tend to be pretty awesome if I'm in the mood which is often. I like to go out and have a good time, but I also need time to just chill and hang out. I have a pretty addictive personality especially when it comes to movies and TV. It sounds sad, but that's usually how I spend my free time when I'm not hanging with my friends and doing crazy stuff. I love meeting people from all over the world who share the same friendly, open backpacking spirit.

PHILOSOPHY

Get what you can out of your experiences now, and worry about the consequences when it's over. Memories are more precious than material possessions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not sure yet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with people in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria, Glasgow, Scotland, and Munich, Germany. Each time was absolutely amazing. It really felt like home while being on the road and I made some great friends. I can't wait to do it again!

Interests

Like I said, movies, TV, filmmaking, music, spending time with friends, reading, traveling, writing, pubbing, and whatever else comes up that sounds interesting and/or spontaneous.

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow, this would be insanely hard to list them all. But some of my favorites are Newsies, John Hughes 80s teen comedies (Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the Breakfast Club, etc), 300, American Beauty, Moulin Rouge, Indiana Jones (all of them), Star Wars (just the originals), Jeux d'Enfants, Juno, Grosse Point Blank, Clueless, Speed, old musicals, anything with Cary Grant or Humphrey Bogart, I literally could just keep writing...

My taste in music is also really eclectic. I love broadway musicals, most 80s music, Bon Jovi, Journey, the Doors, Green Day, Plain White T's, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Josh Groban, Aretha Franklin, Depeche Mode, the Cure, Nirvana, the Offspring, Interpol, the Faint, Social Distortion, Otis Redding, and other random stuff.

For books I prefer more classic literature, especially Jane Austen, Alexandre Dumas, and Charles Dickens, but I also like the Da Vinci Code, Harry Potter, Memoires of a Geisha

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite experiences with couchsurfing and traveling in general was hanging out with my host in his dorm in Munich while he and his friends played guitar and we all sang along to "Mrs. Robinson." Epic times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure what I have to offer. I can whistle, sew very badly, sing not much better, play the piano mediocre-ly, speak French (somewhere in between intermediate and moderately fluent), cook excellent raumen noodle soup and buttermilk biscuits, pretend that I've cut my thumb in two, shake my groove thing quite impressively, and drink shots of hard liquor with no chasers, as well as impart wisdom on the proper alcohol-drinking etiquette so as not to get a hangover, do something you'll regret later and/or not remember, and not get arrested or annoy others too much.
