Hi, I'm Yunus. I'm 19 years old, Turkish and a university student. Studying Industrial Engineering in Bogazici University. This is my first year in University. Nowadays I've been looking an opportunity to go abroad to see new places and I found one. I'm really excited about traveling. Wanna continue as soon as I can. I also really like meeting new people and chatting them. I like get to know new cultures, get fun, play games, trip around together. Especially I like to learn and listen life stories. Also I'm talkative too.

Let me introduce myself. I'm from Mugla / Turkey which is the best city to live a country life in Turkey, especially after 40 years old. It's the southest and westest city in Turkey if you look the map you can easily see it. It has amazing beaches, hot weather and it's exactly a holiday place. It's popular around tourists. I've born and grew up until 18 years old in that city. It was okey but a little bit boring. I couldn't do many different things and my days were repeating. I wasn't aware of this before coming to Istanbul but now, everything is changing for me. In my old life, almost half of my life was in school. Mostly I've studied, went cafes to chit chat, played video games and went small trips. I couldn't travel long distances because of my family ,they were scared for me, and some money issues. But eventually, this studying gave me success. I've ranked 1326 out of 2.6m people. And now I'm in one of the best universities in Turkey. It's something I really proud of myself. But there is a problem...

The problem is, as you can see I don't have many things to tell because I feel like my life has started 1 year ago. Why? Because I came to a new city, I've started to study university and I've met hundreds of new people. This new life is expanding my point of view and I've newly started to collect unforgettable memories. Parties, games, travels, new places, new people etc. And I want more of them. That's why I'm here, that's why I wanna travel. I wanna collect more memories. Normally I should have written my memories right here but as I don't have much, I'm here to increase them. And this community may be the best place for this.

Right now I'm staying in a 10 bed government dormitory, which I can not bring anyone in, so in Istanbul I can't host anyone for a while sorry for that but in summer times I can host you in my hometown.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm someone who likes to travel and meet new people, get to know new cultures, traditions, places, lives etc. I want to expand my vision, my life sight, my point of view. And of course I wanna do all of these for cheap. That's why I wanna join this community, that's why I wanna meet you 🤗

Interests

Cats: I've grew up 2 motherless cats in my home I found them in my warehouse then took them in home. But they left me after 4 - 5 months. After they grew up :( it was really sad.

Photography: I like taking photos especially scenery photos. You can check my Instagram highlights for my views. That's not all but some of them are there.

Music: I can't make music because I can't play any instruments but I want to learn. It's one of my plans in the future. For now I'm just listening and sometimes singing. My voice isn't that beautiful so I prefer singing rap.

Cycling: Cycling is almost a lifestyle for me. I love it and in my hometown I go everywhere with my bicycle. Also I ride for just fun. Just to trip around. Sometimes we make small tours with my friends in summer time. My record in 1 day is 60 km. It's not that much but we swimmed in 2 different seas in that day it was exhausting.

Teaching: I ranked 1326 out of 2.6m people in university exam last year which is an incredible ranking. Thus, my friends ,who will take this exam this year, asks me about exam like tactics or major selection. And I help them about their questions. Also they ask me questions they couldn't solve I also help them about these. And I like doing that, it feels like I'm a teacher and this feeling is amazing. I think teacher is one of the most blessed jobs. I appreciate them.

Ice skating: It's a new hobby for me. I really enjoy it but it's hard to get better. I'm trying to improve nowadays. It's pretty fun actually.

Europe: I want to travel everywhere in Europe. I want to know new people, learn their culture, even I want to live there.

Social media: It's a little bit upset but I use Instagram a lot. So here is my Instagram: @yns_emre_gns

Coding: As I study computer science, I'm learning coding. For now I know a little bit python and I can make basic things.

Rubik's cube: I think it's a fun gadget. My solving record was 30 secs but now average 1 min.

Csgo: I play it regularly and I was global elite 3 months ago. Now my rank is LEM. Played approximately 2000 - 2500 hours.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like listen to music. Favorite type probably rap but I listen every type.
I read books but not that much. I generally prefer novels in old times.
And I like watching movies or series too. My favorite movie is Forrest Gump and favorite series are Breaking Bad and Peaky Blinders

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I've hitchhiked with my cousin to 5 different cars for just 100km . It was very unlucky, every car we've hitchhiked take us a little bit forward but then their road was different to us.
