About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My Current Mission is to Travel as near and far as possible--meeting as many interesting and good people as i can along the way. I wish to Pay it Forward whatever kindness is offered to Me.
ABOUT ME
So, I have lived in Connecticut my entire life. It's not actually all that interesting. I've been out of college for about 10 years now, but i still hadn't gotten the nerve to do anything to try and get out of it. I guess you could say i had a kind of epiphany. I was reading a book one day and realized that my priorities were messed up. I have always had that urge to get out and do something in my life, but up until this moment, i really never did anything to facilitate it. What was my epiphany? Well, it was basically like my own version for a "bucket list..." If the whole reason you aren't doing something is because you are scared of the consequences or failure, that's why we're not doing it? That didn't really make sense to me anymore. What did i decide? Well, long story short, I quit my job and decided to move across the country away from everything I know. So, that's where I was.
I packed everything and moved to Denver in 2010 to start over. - now, in 2017 I am on the move again-- this time with an Amazing Travel Partner though! Destination: Unknown
PHILOSOPHY
My Personal Philosopy is live it like a movie.
I tend to make the important decisions in my life without much thought process or hesitation--kinda like packing up and moving across the country. When i comes to insignificant ones, like what to make for dinner, I put a lot more thought process into it. It's just not worth it to Stress over things.
I asked my friend once, "What's Chivalry?" Her response, "It's like putting your coat down in a puddle so she doesn't have to step in it... Ya know, Romantic, Win a Girls Heart type Stuff..." That response kinda always stuck with me. Do as much as you can for other people, because...there's really no reason not to.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't done anything for CS yet, but once i get out to Denver, i will be opening my apartment for whoever needs a place to stay. I love meeting new people! Everyone has their own reasons for doing things, and it's fun to figure out why.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never done the couchsurfing thing before, per se. When i was backpacking across Europe i stayed in a couple of hostels, and was picked up by numerous people as i was hitchhiking through some of the cities. It definately puts this into perspective when someone picks you up from the street--very humbling. I actually enjoyed hitching rides a lot. Especially the fact that i was given a lift in several police cruisers (it is not illegal in parts of Europe), once, even being let to drive. Mind you, Right side of the car, driving on the left side of the road. That's an experience that everyone should have in their life!
Update: I have stayed 2 nights in Portland! Then 3 nights in Seattle! And a night in Crescent City!
