My name is Wilfrid Palcy. I’m 41 years old. I'm French and I grew up in Martinique (Caribbean)
On a professional level, I have worked as a Director of HR Development and Project Manager. I am currently learning organization coaching for my future profession.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Early 2015, I decided to take up an unusual athletic and supportive challenge.
I have decided to go on a world tour of half- marathons during the year 2016. 
Specifically, I will run 52 half-marathons in 52 weeks on the 5 continents.

This project is obviously an athletic one but it is above all a solidarity project because my efforts aim at attracting the attention of thousands of people on the harmful effects of respiratory diseases.

In order to help me in this very ambitious project, I went into partnership with the people in charge of an institution that brings together all actors involved on the French national level in the struggle against respiratory diseases. It is “la Fondation du Souffle” (Breath Foundation), a non-profit organization declared of public utility by the French Government. http://www.lesouffle.org

The choice of a world tour isn’t by accident. In addition to the athletic feat, the idea is also to go in search of others. Including individuals taking a fresh start, despite adversity. These stories are messages of hope to those with respiratory ailments, and more generally to people facing personal challenges.

THiS YEAR : I travel Europe. The goal is: 60 half marathons in 120 days in 60 cities designated European Capital of Culture.

Interests

I’ve been practicing running in competition since 2002. So far I have run 8 marathons in cities such as Paris, Rotterdam, Milano, Valencia, and Stockholm.

I have other interests. Particularly cultural travels, mingled with adventures. I do in fact, an average of 5 to 6 travel every year and I have already done skydiving, scuba diving, paragliding and bungee jumping.
