Overview
About Me
Hi there! I'm Yevhen, but you can call me Jenya. Originally from Ukraine, I’ve been living in Warsaw, Poland, for over two years now. My journey here hasn’t been easy—I fled from Russian occupation twice—but I’ve settled in and now feel like a local. I’d be happy to show you around the hidden gems of Warsaw—whether it’s a cozy café or a great spot for affordable eats.
Traveling is a huge part of my life, and I love exploring new places with my girlfriend, Taya. We’ve hitchhiked across Europe, discovering new cities, meeting amazing people, and making unforgettable memories along the way. We’ve had some amazing adventures together and I’m always up for an adventure. We are friendly, open-minded, good listeners who seek making new connections and getting to know others better!
When I’m not traveling, you’ll likely find me reading, running, working out, practicing yoga, playing piano(mastered 2 songs for now, ahah). I’m also passionate about my studies, where I’m diving into topics like sociology, psychology, and environmental issues. Outside of academics, I’m involved in acting. I also work as a Scientific Researcher, contributing to meaningful research through surveys and interviews.
I’m excited to meet new people, share stories, and maybe even embark on a new adventure together. Whether it’s over a cup of coffee or exploring a new city, looking forward to meeting you and sharing our life experiences!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m here on Couchsurfing to connect with amazing people from all around the world! My girlfriend Taya and I love to travel, and one of the best parts of our adventures is meeting new friends along the way. We’re all about making genuine connections with awesome people!
Interests
So I'm generally interested in new things. I want to broaden my boundaries - get to know new people, countries, cultures, etc. I hitchhike around Europe and sleep where it could be possible, so always looking for someone on my way with whom I could spend time. Also I am really keen on sports, I'm consistently running, training, playing basketball, football and table tennis. I really like spending calm evenings while reading or just having a nice talk with someone.

Music, Movies, and Books
The last book I read was The Black Swan, which dives into what we don't know and how to navigate the unpredictable. For me, it’s not just the form of art that matters but the thought and message behind it. While I definitely have my favorite styles, I’m always eager to explore new and different ways art can be expressed. Whether it's music, films, or books, I'm all about discovering new perspectives and seeing how creativity can unfold in unexpected ways.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing experiences I’ve had recently was a bit of a whirlwind! My girlfriend and I found ourselves spending the night at an airport, only to be camping in a nature reserve in the Alps a few days later. We were in awe when an alpine ibex casually strolled just a few meters from our tent. It was such a wild and intense few days, filled with unexpected adventures and unforgettable moments!
Teach, Learn, Share
I approach new friendships as opportunities to learn something entirely new! I see friends as people who can teach me, share their experiences, and exchange ideas. In return, I’m always eager to share my own openness and sincerity. I speak five languages (though I prefer not to use Russian for political reasons), so I can help you learn any of them. I’m also pretty good at sports, and we could enjoy some activities together. Plus, I can teach you some tasty recipes, acting exercises to feel more free in your movements, and even public speaking skills. Looking forward to learning and sharing with you!
What I Can Share with Hosts
One of the amazing things I love to do is share my skills and passions with others! I can whip up some delicious Ukrainian dishes or a tasty pasta meal, and we can enjoy it together while watching a movie or chatting on a walk. I’m also happy to help out with housework, whether it’s cleaning up or working in the garden. My girlfriend, Taya, is an artist, so she can create some artwork for you or even paint a wall! I can also play a couple of songs on the piano to add a bit of music to the mix, ahah. Plus, Taya is a professional pet sitter, so we can take care of your pets while you’re away, making sure they’re in good hands.
