About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel and make friends; to make unforgettable memories; to experience life!

ABOUT ME

I love adventures. I just graduated a math and finance major from William and Mary. I speak four languages (because my parents do). I love learning new things and meeting new people :)

PHILOSOPHY

"Life is only as good as the memories we make." The Ataris. Yes, it's very high school-y, but I never forgot it.

"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony." Mahatma Gandhi

That, and if it doesn't hurt to do something nice for somebody, then why not do it? I like doing nice things for people :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Last summer, I surfed on my epic bike trip down the west coast. A college dorm room isn't exactly conducive to hosting, but I've had a few people over in my time. I'll be moving to NYC soon and once I get settled, I'll be able to host again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed with a bunch of people on the west coast when Will and I went on our bike trip. We surfed mostly in the Pacific Northwest, where it was always rainy and cold!

Interests

Running, biking, being outdoors. Math (yes, I realize that's strange), teaching/tutoring, finance. Singing, laughing, BEING. Appreciating the beauty of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Count of Monte Cristo, What Should I Do With My Life?, Outliers
Music: anything...rap, rock, hip hop, country, pop, classical...anything
Movies: lots... I just watched When Harry Met Sally, so that's fresh in my memory, but I like (speaking of memory) Memento, Boondock Saints, Fight Club, and The Breakfast Club.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hands down the most amazing thing I ever did was my bike trip this summer with my boyfriend Will after his graduation and before his sister's wedding. On Friday, May 21, we started in Seattle and began our wet journey around the Olympic Peninsula (Olympic National Park was totally worth it). We then went inland for a while from Olympia down to Eugene, then out to Florence in a day and down the coast! We met up with a bunch of cyclists going down 101and rode with them for a while. Prairie Creek State Park kept us for a few days as we enjoyed the redwoods and our final destination. We made it all the way to Arcata, CA on Saturday, June 19 when we realized that we had to get to San Francisco by 9:50 am on Monday to catch the train to Washington, DC. A Craigslist encounter got us a ride down for six hours on Sunday night in exchange for six hours of moving two storage units into one U-Haul. Despite the tornado that caused us to miss our train in Chicago and stay an extra day, we FINALLY made it to DC by 1 pm on Friday, so that we made it to Brie and RJ's rehearsal dinner in Richmond, VA only about an hour late. Quite an adventure :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach math and finance (my majors). . And I have plenty of experience teaching both.
