About Me

I am studying European cultures and tourism for my master's degree in National Taiwan Normal University. During my senior year in college, I exchanged to France and studied French, business and tourism in Groupe ESC Troyes. I am interested in exploring the world, a place which cultivates so many great civilizations in human history, as much as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a great way to have more contact with local people, since the purpose of travel is to know more about the city and the people.

Interests

I like to play volleyball, and play the piano, Chinese guitar, and pipa. I also like to watch movies, TV series, and listen to music.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am watching a TV series "Game of Thrones" recently. As for books and movies, I love the Hunger Games, Twilight, and Divergent. Apart from these popular stories, I also read classic literature works such as The Illiad, The Odyssey, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Scarlet Letter, and some horror short stories of Edgar Allan Poe in my literature classes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've participated in a meaningful activity to deliver hot coffee for free on New Year's Eve at Taipei 101 in Taiwan to encourage people to use their own cup when buying drinks.
The problem of used plastic cups all over the ground after the New Year's Eve lasts for many years. And the problem of excessive plastic garbage is bothering the government in Taiwan , too.
By this activity, I really hope that I did contribute to my hometown, the beautiful island.
Some people encouraged us and thanked us that night. That is the most amazing and unforgettable night I have in my life. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I major in English, and I enjoy both listening to and telling interesting stories. I hope to be a language teacher or a tour guide in the future, helping more people to learn about the world while I fervently love the same thing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook some traditional Taiwanese food.
I can also explain to you the traditional Chinese music, since I've learned Zhongruan(like Chinese guitar) and Pipa in Taiwan.
I also know one of the traditional martial art. It's called Taichiquan (太極拳). The movement is quite slow. And this kind of martial art is used to become healthy, not to attack sb else. (Those who are imagining the acts in action movies, I am sorry to disappoint you. :P)
If you like, I can teach you Chinese, which is said to be one of the most difficult languages in the world.

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland
