Since it is a bit hard to describe oneself, I will do that through my friends and acquaintances. Surprisingly not, people say I have a double personality (not duplicitous though!). There are many reasons for that:
1. I look like Clark Kent (and Superman, only in emergency situations)
2. My sign is Gemini
3. I like being occupied with two 'completely' different areas (or mindsets): computer science and acting (both studied for long time!). Not very rarely, I need to swap between the two within a daytime! I admit that I like this challenge and this versatility...People are not just one thing, right?

Other than that, I regard myself as a low-profile person, sometimes introvert, sometimes extrovert (depends very much on the person), tidy at home (a bit messy in life), a bit nerdy at times, "I look at the sky, but always stepping on ground" I would say...

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I am a newbie on Couchsurfing. I like travelling a lot, but a lot of my travelling dreams are left in a drawer, because of lack of time and money (at the same time).
On the other hand, I realised that it would be nice for me to host people at my place for a short time to help them travel, as long as both sides can trust each other. Especially now that money is difficult to have, trust is something we need to regain, so that people continue travelling, meeting people of different cultures, experiencing new things.
So, Couchsurfing offers this opportunity with minimum cost!

Interessi

One of my favourite interests, given the very limited free time, is photography, though too shy, until now, to show my work to 'wider' audience. Other interests are sports, in particular hiking, table-tennis, tennis, volleyball and others. I have been exercising since I was a little boy!

Musica, film e libri

To be honest I am not a music person that much. So, I listen almost everything, including jazz, classical music, ethnic, rock and Greek rock...
In films, I would classify me as cinephile (for example, I like watching old classics, I prefer Cannes / Sundance to Oscars etc.) and not particularly into action movies and thrillers (I don't like!). Few of my favourites are 'Dogville', 'Life Is Beautiful', 'The Pianist'.
As for books, I like mostly Greek writers, like Kazantzakis, and old, Greek traditional literature.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I would regard something I have done as 'amazing', just things I recollect with a smile on my face. These include two long trips: One train trip to Serbia, Croatia, Adriatic coast with an amazing company of friends and one train-and-cycle trip from Geneva to Greece (through French Alps, Cot' Azure, Italy) that lasted 15 days and costed the savings of quite many months, but fully worth it!
Other than that, because of my often hiking expenditures, every time I find myself on a mountain tip, there is an amazing feeling that pays back the enormous effort of reaching it!

Insegna, impara, condividi

As part of my job I teach wireless communications, but I guess that is of no interest. I can teach sports (those mentioned above), but still I suppose interest is not very vivid here either.
I like learning a lot. For the time being I am learning to play trumpet (I always wanted to learn playing a musical instrument).

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

I like sharing time with people I meet. Depending on time available (at the period of visit) I could show them around parts of the city, difficult for a simple tourist to know, and guide them to local taverns for some simple, but traditional Greek food.
