About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am currently a sophomore from Swarthmore College. I am planning to take a gap year after this year and start backpacking. I really like to meet different people and I think couchsurfing will make my backpacking experience extra interesting.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Fuyang, China, and I spent most of my life in China. I came to the US in 2012 for college. I am pretty talkative, and I really like to meet different people and get to know their interesting life experiences. Often I learn from these more than I do from classes. In Swarthmore coursework really stresses me out, so I don't have too much time to have fun on weekdays, although I usually go out on weekends. I like sports, especially soccer and basketball.
I'm trying to find a way to both have fun and do meaningful things with my life, and I think couchsurfing is a great platform.

PHILOSOPHY

I've been interested in the whole zen detachment idea. Living in a worldly manner but with a Buddhist psychology. There is really less restriction in the world than there seems to be, and the only point of life is just to live. Have fun and enrich my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to mostly participate as a traveller, but I can definitely sometimes host as well. I live in a double room in my dorm, so as long as I can settle down the issue with my roommate things will be fine.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a host family in Houston right before I came to PA for undergraduate. I stayed with a loving old couple for over a week, and it was a great experience. They were really considerate, and as a Christian family, they also brought me the churches and taught me lots of Christian knowledge. They treated me like their grandson, and I still remain in contact them, and I visited them over the last summer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hopefully the most amazing things are yet to come.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am fluent in both Chinese and English, auguably the two biggest languages nowadays, so I can be tutors in one of the two languages, depending where I stay or whom I host. I would also love to share my international experiences and stories. Or simply, just talking about life and fun things.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cuba, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates

Countries I’ve Lived In
