ABOUT ME

Well, I'm a pretty opening person. Easy-going, love to talk, love to discover everything interesting. I'm also a very controlling person, I love to plan things ahead and follow certain rule. I'm just a combination of ration and emotion. I came to America from China when I was 17 for studying Journalism in Mizzou, but I found myself fascinated with art so I switched my major to art and get transferred to the Art Institute of Chicago. Now I'm living a life that I really enjoy, I make art everyday and whenever i have time I will go traveling.

PHILOSOPHY

I think life is a journey of discovering. By the time we were born, we may already have soul. However, in order to understand the soul, we need to learn and experience things in life and use the external power to fulfill our internal self and vice versa. The most important thing for me is awareness. Aware what is good, what is bad, what kind of situation I am, what I am missing. Only when I am aware, I can see what the universe is doing on me and what is my role in the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been to four different hosts during my journey from Chicago to California. They have been very nice to me. Besides, I have hosted two times in my own place. So far, couchsurfing has been great!

Interests

I love painting, making videos; I love reading about philosophy, watching movies. I love making new friends but I also enjoy the time I'm alone. I want to try new things and discover myself.Now I'm working on a series of painting about gender issues, I'm pretty interested in this subject because I get the chance to really understand my role as a woman.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read/watch books/movies about philosophy, social issues. Right now I am reading The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir. It's a book about women and gender. I am open to all kinds of music, it all depends on my mood. My favorite band: cold play. My favorite composer: Chopin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In college, one day I just feel like drawing, so I bought some pencils and started to draw and I never stop.

I got pissed once after the argument with my boyfriend, then I went out and walked along the Michigan river. Then I thought, if I can jumped into the lake right now, then nothing can stop me. So I jumped.
