My name is YINGYU CHEN. You can call me Alicia. I am from Taiwan.:)My friends usually called me smiling or sweet girl,haha. I like to make new friends and learn different culture.That's why I started using Couchsurfing to meet more people.I studied industrial design in Spain for one year. Now I work in Cambodia. Also, I am a freelance journalist and photographer( beginner). For me, the most important and also beautiful thing when I am traveling is the people I meet on the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is not just visiting some beautiful places. For me, the most beautiful thing is the people I meet. If I just stay in hotels or hostels, it is harder to meet local people and have deep talk. Couchsurfing is a best way to live with the locals and learn their life styles. I am glad to share lots of things with hosts and guests. It is amazing to exchange stories, interests, capabilities, and even different views of lives with couchsurfers. I believe I can make a lot of good friends here.

I used couchsurfing during my exchange year, in Spain, Ireland, France, Israel and Turkey. I have met lots of amazing people and they are like my family in different places. I am so so lucky to have chance to meet them.

Music, Movies, and Books

1. Almost any kind of music. Pink Floyd, Coldplay, Passenger, Stone Sour. Also I am really in love to latin music.
2. My favorite movies are one day, perfect strangers, Interstellar,Peekay (India movies)
3. I always read books in my leisure time, that's share them face to face.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wrote the calligraphy and sang a a song named "Soy de Tawian" on the street which my friend composed . We were the street performers for three days,haha. We met lots of warm people on the street in Valencia. I won't forget these nights in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

If u want to learn Chinese, or even u are just interested in it, I can show you some interesting history about this language.
Besides, I have taught Chinese in an elementary school in Spain several times,haha.
In addition, of course, I am glad to share with u Taiwanese culture, food and music......etc.

I had learned Chinese calligraphy for more than 5 years.
I am interested in painting,drawing and design.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share Taiwanese culture and also have some experience in the crowdfunding industy. I did an internship in the leading crowdfunding company in Taiwan last year. It's like Kickstarter and Indiegogo in Taiwan so I have participated in some interesting campaigns. In addition, I can share my traveling experience, like in Tibet, Cambodia, Spain, China,Central America....... with you. Hope I have a chance to meet you and become your friend. :)
