About Me

Traveler, hitchhiker, photographer, drunk philosopher, dancer, adventurer, reader, cooking enthusiast, loving weirdo and happy cholita

Instagram: @yirkanomade

From Cusco-Peru. I'm an Inca descendant peruvian girl. I have a strong indigenous heritage in blood and soul, I'm a daughter of the mountains and a soldier of the Sun.

I've worked in the Medical field for several years. But I found my passion in Photography and Cinematography which I’m currently pursuing.

I traveled in the Americas from Dec 2014 till March 2023 which is when I moved to Sweden (long story thy requires wine)
Hopefully I’ll keep exploring this side of the world.

Some quotes:

:::We are all mortal until the first kiss and the second glass of wine. Galeano.

:::It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old, they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams. Gabriel García Márquez.

:::El amor es tan corto y el olvido tan largo. Pablo Neruda.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Spending time with local people is one of the best ways to understand and actually live a country's culture.
I'm not a person of "touristic spots", so, a crazy market is way more interesting to me than a "safe touristic area". With a good local guide, walking around the city becomes the best tour.
My grandparents (for some reason) always had travelers at home, and I've hosted people long before I found out about Couchsurfing, it only made sense to join. :)

I've had wonderful, generous, loving people in my life that have opened their hearts for me and have taught me that life's about sharing. I'm lucky I continue to meet these wonderful people.

Teach, Learn, Share

LEARN
I've started this journey to be a sponge.
I want to learn all I can from people's lives, cultures and philosophies so I can build and add to my own points of view. I love learning pretty much anything, languages, traditions, philosophies, weird habits, anything people have to share!

SHARE
my culture.
History of Peru
non-touristic places of my city.
guinea pig stories.
pop corn and movies.
Photography
Any other thing my free time will allow me.
