Overview
About Me
My name is Ylenia, I'm 25 and Italian. I grew up in a city on the sea in the northwest of Italy and I currently live in Bologna, where I'm a student.
I find it a hard task to describe myself, but I'll do my best: I'm a very dynamic person, growing up I struggled with not being able to experience EVERYTHING I wanted to, so I tried my best as a teenager to close the gap! I spent the years right after high school traveling all around the world and ended up living in Chicago and Buenos Aires for a while.
I know a bit of (almost!!) every topic, thanks to my ability to learn from the people who surround me, but just a few subjects get me really passionate: I love analyzing people and situations from an anthropological point of view, I'm really into psychology and all that's about the human emotions (I'm now on a discovery path of spirituality). Being an economics student, I try to expand my knowledge in a way that I feel is more about collective wellness and less about money: I believe there's a necessity to redistribute resources in a (waaaaay) better way, which is possible only by changing the paradigm of current economics. I also believe in utopia as the only mean to actually make a change.
Moving now to what I like to do: besides aperitivo (always a good moment to drink a beer), I love practicing yoga and meditating, reading, traveling... All things that make me feel like I'm learning something new (about myself, others, and the world)
Finally, I'm the proud mama of a very special bunny named Michelangelo <3
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I just love the idea of a world where whoever has some resources shares them with those who do not. As well as meeting new people and getting to know other perspectives on the world through their eyes and talks. I also feel like there's no better way of traveling than doing it with some locals (or at least through their advice) and Couchsurfing is a must for it!
Unfortunately I cannot host through couchsurfing for the moment, since I do not have an independent house and no shared rooms big enough to host someone. But I do believe a lot in this kind of exchange and when I personally meet people that I like, I always offer a (more informal) place to stay in the cities I live in.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love techno and (what I call) floral music, I love dancing and when the music is right I can never stop!
I don't watch many movies or tv series, but I do love the ones that can teach some good stuff while being funny. Also, I usually like those very slow movies that nobody wants to watch lol. Books, I love feminist literature because of its ability to reflect the real world we live in!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Honestly could be a lot of things but nothing also!
At 17 I got my PADI license to dive
I traveled a lot when still very young and ended up in many different situations, met all kinds of people, and lived kinda 200 different lives lol
I've been an (almost) single mum of three kids for a year when I did an Au-pair exchange. It's been really tough and taught me a lot.
I took a swim with sea-lions in la Jolla (San Diego)
I'm getting my degree in economics without losing my mind (maybe lol)
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to share stories and anecdotes, and I appreciate long, deep, slow talks, stimulating for all people involved.
I'm a huge astrology lover, and I could read your natal chart (just partially though! Still in the process (; )
I'm eager to learn anything the other person has to offer and I will make a lot of questions on the topic, so get ready!! :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook an Italian meal for the foodies!
Also the safety of being a very precise and respectful person to have around :)))
