To dissolve the borders between my mind and the rest of this beautiful world, by experiencing as much of what the latter has to offer.

ABOUT ME

We are not your stereotypical Americans!

We are American students studying abroad in the UK, hoping to see as much of Europe as we can this year.

By we, I mean myself and my girlfriend, Becky, who will pretty much always be surfing with me. One of our many shared passions is travel and exploring new cultures, and that is precisely why we are here.

PHILOSOPHY

Our lives are singular and finite. As such, we must optimize our lives to experience as much beauty, happiness, and love as possible. However, every person is deeply and intricately interwoven with everyone else and everything else in this universe. Thus we must also live responsibly, compassionately, and consciously of the struggles of others.

I like to summarize my existence with a quote by Carl Sagan: "We are a way for the universe to know itself."

Movies: Children of Men, Babel, Fight Club, Lawrence of Arabia, Pulp Fiction, Lord of the Rings, Apocalypse Now, 2001, District 9, Memento, Inception.

Music: Any classic rock, alternative/progressive rock, or jazz. Occasionally some club/dance music, pop, or rap.

Books: Love Cormac McCarthy, which means I love The Road, No Country for Old Men, and Blood Meridian. Also enjoy: Brave New World, Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Flies, Great Gatsby, Of Mice and Men, A Farewell to Arms, etc.
