ABOUT ME

I'm Ymke, 23 years old and from the Netherlands. Travelling is my passion and I grab every opportunity to do so. After high school I took a gap year and traveled around Australia, New Zealand and Asia for over 9 months. I also did an exchange in Victoria, Canada. I now finished my bachelor in Earthsciences, and before starting a master next year it is (of course) time for another gap year first; South America it is!! Currently exploring Patagonia and trying to learn Spanish. Very excited for all the adventures still to come! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love that Couchsurfing brings me in touch with people I, most likely, wouldn´t have met otherwise. To meet people to share stories with, interchange cultures and still being able to travel on a budget.

So far, my Couchsurf experiences have all been great. From going on a two day kayak trip with my host to spontaneously ending up on a ski hill and from sharing a delicious Iranian meal to Korean BBQ.

Interests

I love to climb, dive, run, walk, swim or do any other sports. Travelling is hobby number one and my favourite way to do so is while hitching around :)
