Hello world! My name is Y Nam, a citizen of the world who has Vietnamese origins and an Italian background.

After some years of studying/working and travelling around the world, the pandemic forced me to spend more than one year and a half stuck at my parents' home in Italy, always dreaming of being able to travel again soon.
The day finally came, and in July 2021 I finally left my place once again and spent the summer in Krakow, Poland, where I finally felt alive once again!
Just six months later, though, I had to leave the country and Europe, to start a new adventure as a freshman at the University of Queensland in Australia!

In August 2015 my life completely changed after finally having the opportunity to study for a semester in Vietnam. There, the travel bug bit me, and because of it, I have been travelling at every opportunity.
There is always something to learn while visiting other realities: something about other worlds, but also about myself.

Now I am ready to explore new sides of this world and willing to experience as much as I can!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Couchsurfing changed my way of travelling.
After taking the courage to use Couchsurfing (I was very shy), I realised that having no fixed itineraries - while following locals' recommendations instead - is a much more interesting way of discovering a destination.
And having the chance to meet locals is definitely the best part of a trip: I always learn a lot about the place I am discovering from people who live there. Their suggestions are always the best ones I could ever have, and having the chance to go out with them for a drink always makes my trip more unique and unforgettable.

I have a camera which I bought years ago with my first summer job... Since then it's been my best travel companion 📷

During the pandemic I decided to open a YouTube channel with my sister, where we review some of our most favourite boardgames! 🎲

And I can't deny I am a pop music lover, also owning more than 500 CDs 💿

Volunteering 6 weeks in Croatia.
Never would I expect it could be such an unforgettable experience. Getting to face one of the European most recent post-war realities was really touching.
The locals I met, the stories they told me, the friends I made and the realities I experienced: they will never be forgotten.
