Hello world!

I am a teacher, but also a party animal, vegan, newbie traveler, dreamer, social justice warrior (in my head mostly and I try not to be annoying) and I loooooooooove to make new friends!

I am living in Phuket, Thailand with my dear boyfriend Sam. We have been travelling in Malaysia and Thailand and decided to stick around. Sam is currently trying to find a nice job on the island whilst I am bringing home the tofu, working as a homeroom Y3 teacher at an international school.

We are both avid climbers, like to hike, in love with beaches and snorkelling, want to start diving, enjoy sunsets (and rises!) and try to be as peaceful and hippie as we can. Now that we have a new house with space for guests, we would like to meet likeminded people. We are pretty relaxed and accommodating, but at the moment we only accept vegan/vegetarian people in our house. Perhaps this sounds a bit harsh to you if you happen to be a person who chooses to eat animals, but luckily there are plenty of hosts on the island who are happy to give you a room :-) We just feel more comfortable with people who choose the same compassionate and ecological lifestyle. Are you veg-curious? Then we are more than happy to host and teach you how to live a happy, healthy, compassionate and eco-friendly life :-D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Sam and I would like to help a fellow veggie out. We finally have the space to invite travellers, share stories, thoughts, opinions and have a good time socialising with others. We have met a lot of people during our travels in Malaysia and Thailand and have always told them they'd be welcome to stay with us. Because how cool is it if you know someone on the sunny island of Phuket?

We are trying to make this crazy world a bit nicer by making others happy and show that good people are out there. Offering our home seems like the right thing to do, so if you would like to keep us company you can send me a message :-D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitchhiked from Rotterdam (the Netherlands) to Kraków (Poland) with my best friend! It was an amazing experience and I really loved it :) If you ever have the chance, please visit Poland (especially Kraków) in the winter because it is one of the most beautiful snowy cities I've ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a Spanish and English teacher and currently working at an international school as a homeroom teacher for Y3. I can bore you with teaching methodologies, pedagogy and other fun teaching stuff :-) Sam and I like climbing and teach you the basics at a small indoor climbing wall in Phuket Town. We are both vegan (me for 4 years, Sam for 1 year) and if you are interested in discussing views on veganism or if you are a newbie to the veg-world, we can teach you everything you need to know. Want to know more about English, Spanish or Dutch culture? Prepare yourself for our extensive explanation on everything that is wrong with it, whilst we point out the best things of our countries as well :')
