About Me

Yoav Amitai, 22.
Hell do I say about me? Well, like everybody on couch surfing, traveling is my life and all that other stuff. But what's truely makes me unique, unlike other couch surfers - is nothing! We're an amazing community, we truely are. We all have incredible lovely charastaristics. Selling myself out feels kinda akward. I'll just go with 1 phrase that describes me best:

"Normal is boring"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a truly amazing project. I'm a big fan of the 'give and take' system.
Also, my older brother used to host all the time, and thanks to that I met a lot of interesting and unique people.
I believe that's the most appealing thing about couch surfing - the people of the community!

I believe that visiting a new place as a tourist is one thing, but experiencing a place through a local (host) can take your visit to another level! That way, you also learn about the politics of the place, history, you can get to "hidden" gems only locals know of, and all the things you can't get from a guiding book or a quick google search.

Interests

Mostly and above all - friends, they truely are the pillar of my life.
Then comes traveling, music, night life, and chess.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
Electronic is most def my cup of tea. My favorite artists are 'Flume' and 'Mura Masa'. I also listen to a bunch of other stuff. Like Pink Floydd, Asaf Avidan, Frank Ocean, Childish Gambino, but if I had to decide on a genre of music that is the most 'me' then it would have to be Electronic.

Movies
There's honestly too much to count. A few just from the top of my head - Pulp Fiction, American History X, 500 days with summer, Shutter Island, Se7en, Kill Bill, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, and honestly so much more.

Books
'1984' is a huge one for me, therefore 'Brave New World' comes next... Also 'The Old Man and the Sea' by Hemingway is a book I admire. I love fantasy books, but I also read a lot of classics.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to do Latter Art or explain Israeli political issues... But I doubt it someone will be interested...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well.. I don't know? I don't bring anything too special or impressing. I can bring lots of stories and young spirit - or is that too cliche?
Well I really love having debates and conversations. Night life is something I'm very passionate about and love and doing it with a local or a stranger makes it even more exciting.
Also, in the past 3 years I lived in a small room with 5 others so I consider myself pretty experienced at sharing a place and I'm aware of the importance of privacy and giving a room to breath.

Honestly and most importantly, I can share with hosts myself - my thoughts, opinions, experiences, ideas - and I'm looking to receive the same things from my hosts.
