For 5 years I had been couchsurfing solo. 3 years ago, my girlfriend Amanda and I started travelling together. We've had a successful 3 years of circumnavigating the globe teaching yoga, and now we are engaged soon to be married, so my couchsurfing profile is now officially a +1.

ABOUT ME

Trevor -

Born and raised in California, finessed my hospitality skills while living in the South, dove into the international mindset while living in China, studied a toolset for health and happiness while living in the Himalayas for a summer, then brought that back to the USA, running a yoga studio for 1.5 years, and then moving to Australia and New Zealand to spread my wings across the Southern Hemisphere... I teach many styles of yoga, including Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga and Acroyoga, plus I lead Yoga & Meditation treks through the Himalayas and you can find out more from my personal page www.trevoryoga.com

I travel every opportunity I get, and keep myself busy in between with triathlons, yoga, and eventually turntabling.

When I travel, I try to see and do as much as possible. The world is an amazing place and I want to soak in the cultures and experience everything that everywhere has to offer. While the balance of relaxation is entirely necessary, I believe that you only live NOW!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to tell stores, listen to stories, teach yoga, and join with perfect strangers from all over the world to find common bonds and see what we can create.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Trevor -

During the World Cup in South Africa, I used couchsurfing to meet a bunch of other travelers who were also in the country. Ended up surfing with great folks I met along the way.

My first time officially surfing blindly through couchsurfing was in Xiamen, China, and the weekend was incredible. Junk boat trips, hash runs, 3AM nights in the clubs, you name it.

I then surfed again in Seoul, South Korea with a great host and managed to meet many other very cool couchsurfers in the process.

I traveled and surfed through Borneo, meeting some of the most ambitious+adventurous CS'ers yet.

In the Summer of 2011, I traveled through India, couchsurfing and meeting others thru couchsurfing that really introduced me to fantastic experiences in their country.

I've hosted both in Shanghai, Tampa, Brisbane, and Wellington meeting some unique folks who I'm still in touch with today.

Amanda -

Most Recently, I surfed all around New Zealand and Australia, a bit in the middle east, and now surfing throughout Europe.

We teach yoga and we try to practice and study more every day. We have created YogaThali as our travelling brand, and we lead workshops and retreats all over the world. Whenever we are hosted we love to invite our hosts to our local workshops complimentary.
