À propos de moi

I was born in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. But, I grew up in a city called Bekasi (2 hours from Jakarta). Basically, I can take you around Jakarta or Bekasi if you need a companion on weekends (for free), but don't expect me to be an expert guide.

Public transportation will take us around (not my car, because I don't have one). But hey, you can engage more with the locals using public transportation right!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I'm here to find friends who can be my hosts or guides while I'm traveling. On the other hand, I can be your companion if you go around Jakarta or Bekasi. But, I'm sorry I can't be a host yet due to lack of accommodation. Soon, perhaps.

Centres d'intérêt

I like reading, watching movies, listening to musics, writing, traveling and swimming.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I like pop musics, and old songs.

For movies, I basically watch those series coming from the books. My favorites are Divergent, Hunger Game, and Game of Thrones. But I'm open with anything with good stories, graphics, and values.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Once I went around Kuala Lumpur with my sister within a day. Starting from KLIA2 early in the morning we directly headed to Putrajaya using the KLIA transit (it felt so fancy), and a bus from Putrajaya terminal. After that we took another bus from the terminal to go straightly to KL Sentral, catching KTM to Batu Caves. After that to Chinatown Petaling Street, and Pasar Seni (Central Market). Then, we went to our hostel in Bukit Bintang. After napping for a while, we ditched the wet road from the rain into KLCC (Twin Tower), Masjid Jamek, and Dataran Merdeka. All in a day, it was a super crazy journey I've ever had!

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I've been to Malaysia (actually I lived in KL for 5 months during my exchange program). If you go there, you really need to go to the places I mentioned above, and Melaka (It's a different state, not in KL. It's an old port town with a lot of colonial touch). In KL, you should try nasi lemak, teh tarik, canai kaya, and banana leaf. Try to get on GO KL buses (It's free, purple in color, with not really good wifi though). In Melaka, you should taste the cendol, get on fancy becak (a three-wheeled vehicle, with colorful decorations-flowers, papers, even money), or take a ferry going around Melaka on the canal. Visit the Christ Melaka church, A Famosa, St. Paul's church, Sultanete Palace, Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum, Menara Taming Sari, Jonker Street, the Stadtuys, and Melaka Strait Mosque (A mosque floating on a strait, my favorite!)

When I went to Thailand, my good friends took a really good care of me. I stayed at my friends' houses and went around with their cars, sometimes with Tuk-tuk and a boat. They showed me various places; Grand Palace (Its outer wall was painted in white, but inside it was so beautiful! Every building was sparkling in colors. I was lost at words to describe them), Chinatown (or Yaowarat. I grabbed seafood there at the food stalls along the street. It was quite cheap and the shrimps were big enough I couldn't be more full. I love it!), Wang Lang Market (here I bought canai and teh tarik. The seller turned out to be a southern Thai -close to Malaysia- that's why he spoke Malaysian as well), Asiatique (crossing Chao Praya river with a boat, we went to this colorful lighted-place with shops, restaurants/ pubs on it), Ayutthaya (where I went around to see the shrines on an elephant and had my lunch in the floating market), Chao Praya river, Wat Pho (with its big sleeping Buddha statue where I enjoyed putting some coins inside the monks' bowls), Watyaichaimongkhon (I watered small Buddha statues here, and stick some gold papers on them. It was fun!), Watphramongkhonbophit (here, a monk prayed for and gave us a small tiger totem for luck), Bang Pa In (a former King's palace, the combination of both Western and Eastern styles), Sanam Chan (another King's palace with English Tudor style), Phra Pathom Chedi (the highest stupa in the world, my friend said. But he told me that the real older pagoda inside the stupa was smaller), Benjarong Village (Benjarong is Thailand's colorful pottery. Here is where they are made from one generation to another. My friend a.k.a Thai Cultural Professor gave me 2 very beautiful benjarong!). Don't forget to try padthai and tomyang too. Thailand is the heaven of food and adventure.

While in Singapore, I never stayed too long because I didn't think I could afford it hahaha. I went there for the first time by train from KL. I visited Marina Bay Sand, Garden by the Bay, Sentosa Island, Chinatown, Little India, Clarke Quay, and Orchard Road. But still, my favorite activities are having my Singaporean ice cream (ice cream slipped inside a bread) while watching the fountain attraction in front of Marina Bay Sand shopping mall for free!

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I can share snacks, stories, and some souvenirs from my country with the hosts.

The snacks will most probably be salty and spicy though.

The stories can be some recommended places and food in my country.
Moreover, if the hosts visit my country, I will be gladly to take them around Jakarta and Bekasi (There will be some treats too).

You will definitely like the souvenirs.
