My name is Yolan, but most of my friends call me Yo :) I'm 29 and Australian. I live and work in Melbourne.

I am studying digital media, I absolutely love it. I'm in my final year of university now and completed an internship last year.

I love people, its pretty rare that I can't strike up a friendship with someone! I do a lot for others because it makes me happy, although at times between my creative projects and goals and helping people I can feel a bit overwhelmed . I love going out, meeting and connecting with people, and having new experiences :)

I care a lot not just about other people but also for the planet. I am very passionate about the environment and animal rights and have been vegan for 4 years :) Sometimes I feel like I feel too much, I feel very connected to other beings both humans and animals. When I spend time in nature, its healing for me. I go to a park and leave feeling serene and grounded.

I also think I'm pretty good at anticipating what people need or how they might react to something.

I have done a fair bit of traveling so I understand it's very convenient to stay with hosts instead of having to stay in a hostel! Hoping to make some friends and host some cool people from other parts of the world this year so that next year maybe I have more contacts if I head overseas somewhere :)

I went to Burning Man on my own in 2014. That was so awesome..... Not only seeing all the art, but getting to experience it, climb on it, interact with it.

Also surviving out there in Nevada isn't easy, its physically and emotionally tolling, so I learnt a lot about how to survive in extreme conditions and thus a lot about myself and how strong I am. I left feeling determined; I felt like if other people could put together such amazing projects then I could as well and I have no excuse.

Ever since then I've been working really hard on my studies and my photography, which gained me an internship this year :)
