About Me

Where to start?

I grew up in Denmark, but feels at home in the Middle East. I have Jewish background, but speak Arabic and use most of my free time with Palestinians in Occupied Palestine. I am a man and a feminist.

Some of these things might seem as contradictory to some, but that is who I am :)

I am also a linguist with a passion for learning languages and understanding views on the world that are different from what I know.

And a lover of food willing who wants to taste my way through every part of the world and who enjoys cooking a meal for whomever might host me! That could be you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have learned and gained so much from Couchsurfing and I hope some of the people I have met, have learned and gained from me. For me couchsurfing is not just a "hotel service" where you can find a place to stay for the night, but a way to meet and share!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books. My favorite authors are:
- Sayeed Kashua (Israel/Palestine). I can recommend "Let it be morning", a psychological drama from a Palestinian village in Israel during the second intifada or "Dancing Arabs", his humorous story growing up as a Palestinian in Israel between the two cultures.

- Vladimir Nabokov. To be honest, I have only read "Lolita", which is one of my favorite books. I started reading another book of his, about a guy who plays chess. That was boring.

Favorite movies:
I am not all that good at watching movies... but my altimes favorite is the Ukrainian movie "The Tribe" (Plemya) which is set at a boarding school in Ukrain. It is all in Ukranian Sign Language with no subtitles, so you don't always understand what is going on until after the scene, but it is one of the most touching and brutal movies I have ever seen. It is a story about fitting in in a new place, about organized crime and violence, and with a touching love story, which ends in absolute disaster. You should see it!
