Overview
About Me
Hey everyone I'm Yongming from Singapore. Having just finished my university exams in 2019, I'm taking an indefinitely long break to think things through before I embark on my career.
Friends would probably describe me as easy-going and down-to-earth, but at the same time fun-loving, spontaneous and open-minded. I like making people around me happy, and my goal in life is to make the world a better place to live in, through exerting influence on people around me one at a time. It's probably going to be hard while I have to manage life's various responsibilities, but I'll try my best! At this point I'm excited to figure out how to navigate around life's non-linearity, so hit me up if you share the same curiosity of what's around us!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Ever since I did a 5-month internship in Beijing, China. in 2012, I realize how much I enjoy getting to understand and experience the local way of life.
I hope that through CS, I can:
1. form sincere connections with people I meet, and
2. exchange life stories, share hopes and dreams with each other, to learn to be a better person.
Interests
I'm quite a self-professed geek, I like console games hahaha. Done lots of hikes (thanks to infantry training) and always enjoyed being in the vast outdoors! Would love to explore nature trails as much as possible.
Music, Movies, and Books
Animated films! These are my all-time favourites:
Ratatouille (2007)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've conquered my fear of the deep sea and got licenced as an open water scuba diver!
