About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn how to balance impulsiveness and rationality in such a way that won't detract from the beauty of occasional spontenaiety. In the meantime I want to continue meeting great people and having a wonderful time no matter where I am or what I'm doing.
ABOUT ME
Hello, fello travelers!
I am 25 years old and living with my wonderful boyfriend, Kyle, in a 1 bedroom apartment in NYC. I absolutely loving living and working in this incredible city and I love sharing everything it has to offer with other people. I am extremely interested in learning about new things, new cultures, new people -- and my favorite activities are playing boardgames (we have a LOT of boardgames), eating good food/drinking good wine or beer, dancing, singing, picnics, watching movies and going to museums, karaoke, hiking, cycling, nature, and scavenger hunts. I am currently working as a legal assistant while waiting to attend graduate school in the fall for Organizational Psychology.
PHILOSOPHY
"The unexamined life is not worth living"
pretty much
The more you learn and take away from people that you meet, the better person you will be. I try not to ever be narrow minded and I am constantly open to new ideas and to learning better ways of doing things. I also find that life is much happier and more fulfilling if you give back to those who are hospitable to you. You end up a better person with many friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Aside from surfing various couches in my own personal travels, I might be able to offer my living room floor (air mattress) to those who need to stay in New York City on the cheap, and also willing to help show people around Manhattan or Queens on weekends.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed throughout Europe, but am only just now beginning to host!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: My taste in music is very fluid and eclectic; I like many different genres and my list of favorite bands grows all the time. One of the greatest feelings ever, though, is discovering a great underground band that nobody's heard of.
Books: Ishmael, The Things They Carried, We the Living, The Crimson Petal and the White, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most incredible place I have seen in my lifetime up to this point has been the Amazon Rainforest. I had never felt so raw, vulnerable, powerful, and awe-struck until I spent a night sleeping in a hammock in the Rainforest.
Teach, Learn, Share
I may be young, and I may know relatively little in the scope of the enormous wealth of knowledge in the world, but there are a few things I can share with people who'd be interested in learning :) I can teach you how to make a tasty sangria, how to sing, how to play some elementary piano, and I can talk for hours about human evolution and the evolution of the sexes and human behavioral ecology. It makes for GREAT dinner conversation ;)
