About Me

Born in 1993, grew up in a small island, called Jeju. moved to Seoul to study at uni. majored in International Studies. had a conscripted experience at ROKNAVY for 23 months. studied abroad in Ireland and Japan.

Being in the NAVY force and abroad in two different regions truly broaden my horizons. I used to be a bit narrow-minded person but it has changed a lot since I interacted with people from a different culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a person who is very eager to achieve a goal. Yet for some reason, I lately experienced a failure although I satisfied all the criteria to enjoy the fruit of my effort and it just destroyed my faith, which anyone can succeed when they try hard. I was very disappointed by the result and did not know where I should move forward for my next path. So I decided to leave Korea and by so doing am looking forward to setting a new goal while interacting with people having different backgrounds. Those are the reasons why I am on CS.

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to play several musical instruments for fun such as violin, guitar, drum, Alto-Sax, Clarinet and the piano(when I was a very little child). I am quite good at catching the pitch and jamming.

For Movie, I don't watch quite serious movies. for me, watching movies is like time to turn off my brain.

It's been a while since I bought a novel or poetry books in a book store but I literally read all the textbooks I bought for class and even review several times to remind the content.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The latest one would be the internship I just finished two weeks ago. I was a bit depressed because of the reason I mentioned above. But this internship program became a new direction for me so that's why I am heading to Southeast Asia. I worked as an organizing staff in K-Content Expo 2019 Thailand and was able to meet so many interesting people and found opportunities for my future career path. I stayed in Bangkok only for three days and it was of course not enough to figure out the region. As soon as I got paid from the company I worked for, I bought a flight ticket to Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand. Exploring the ASEAN is my new goal at the moment and I do not think I can have such a bold move without the internship experience I had.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach
I do not think I am qualified for anything else. My knowledge as to my major is very limited(but I can debate). well anyway, I guess I think my abroad experience in Japan and Ireland would be great for those who are interested in living in the two countries. hmm I rarely teach but, I used to teach English to middle schoolers in Korea though...

Learn
Learned how to play several musical instruments, foreign Languages(Eng, Ch, JP), Salsa.
