Music, Movies, and Books
Everything! I've been keen on discovering new music since I copied a diskdrive from a hostel where everyone who visited could put their music on. I sifted through everything from Japanese Grunge to Tibetan chanting. Some favourite artists so far though include: Simon and Garfunkle, Bruce Springsteen, Alt J, Soha, and various gentlemen who play the blues.
Films: the classic Quinten Tarantino ones seem an obvious choice, but also City of God, In Bruges, Four Lions, Interstellar, along with Chinese and Hong Kong films by Zhang Wen and Wong Kar Wai
Books: Salman Rushdie, Haruki Murakami, Nabukov and Jon Ronson are some of my favourites, but I will read pretty close to anything and everything
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the best trips in my life was when some friends and I bought 2 auto-rickshaws in Thiruvananthapuram, India, and drove them 2000 miles up the Western border to Agra. We went through 7 different states, countless villages and a seemingly endless amount of breakdowns!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to open a bottle of beer with a map of Berlin (or any other major city)
Also, I can teach you how to play a wee bit of guitar, piano or violin.
I'd love to learn as much as possible. Previous skills learnt from hosts and travelers include: how to fold a shirt like a professional, proper shoe treatment, and how to say "Abra Kadabra" in Korean.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Apart from my humble company, I also love to cook. Japanese, Italian and Chinese dishes are my favourites, I can rustle something up if you want to try!
