About Me

ABOUT ME

I am very friendly. It takes me a while to get used to people, but once I feel comfortable, you will not get me to shut up. I am very much a traveler. I am very independent, so I am always doing my own thing. Though, that doesn't mean I am not social. I like too many things to really list here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For one I really like the concept. Secondly, I love traveling quite a lot and meeting people while doing it in a very cool way is definitely sounds incredible to me.

Interests

I watch a lot of foreign movies( very obscure stuff, I am so different 😅).
I love reading but I haven't had time to do it so much. I learn different languages independently. I think public libraries are a gift. I love concerts and music festivals. I like working with tech and writing about everything and anythingreally. I know random facts that probably won't help anyone in the real world but I just love knowing little details that nobody gives a second thought to in everyday life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite things are probably one of the hardest questions I will be asked, But I will try to answer it as best as I can. Regarding music I am listening to SZA, a lot of music all over the world, Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Imagine Dragons, A.R Rahman, Shreya Gopal, Kehlani, Bob Marley, Alt J, Aster Aweke, Maitre Gims, Erykah Badu, Daniel cesar , Carla Bruni, Nao , Yemi Alde -----or really any old soul songs from West Africa.

My favs are always changing, but at the moment, I am obsessed with the traveling cat chronicles . I also like the classics like James Baldwin, George Orwell, Kurt Vonnegut, Otessa is my new favorite, I really like John Green even though he can be cliched sometimes, That’s about it for now. I read a lot of revolution-related texts like Pedagogy of the oppressed and New Jim Crow as I am a community organizer part time( let's talk if you are interested in these).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed the Jebal Habis Mountain in Petra, Jordan
Climbed mount Kenya all the way to the top
Camped in the desert in Petra under the stars
Rode a mule up the 800 steps in Nanyuki
Went rafting on the Nile River
Saw the sunset in Istanbul
Camped at the edge ( Jinja, Uganda) of the Nile river
Did a research on waste management in Kisumu with the local government of Kenya
Swam in the Indian Ocean to see the Coral reef at the Mombasa Marine Park
Served as an ambassador for the US embassy/Japan embassy in Tokyo

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new languages as it gets me closer to people when I am traveling.
Love cultural exchanges, journaling is amazing,
I collect cameras and I consider myself somewhat of an amateur photographer.
In constant search good delicious food
I am a really good cook, but an average baker.
I love discussion on various topics ranging from the best tv show playing to the parasitism of capitalism and to dance to West African music + Ethiopian music....and really most dancings I can teach you. It's one my favorite things to do.

I just really like to talk about anything and everything.
