Hi. I'm Yorick and I'm working as a Program Manager for a Dutch start-up in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I like to travel a lot with my girlfriend to Asia or N/S-America. Every year a friend and I are hiking in different countries over different routes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me Couchsurfing is a way to stay at places and meet locals which can tell you or show you the authentic local spots instead of the tourist traps. Furthermore, am I a very social person who likes to meet new people and make sure to give you a good time in Amsterdam. It's also an investment in myself, in case I'll go to your city once and will have a place to stay ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? I did a lot of amazing things! The best thing I did so far was living on Manhattan for almost a year and get to know the city like the back of my hand. Furthermore, I've made a great trip through Asia with my girlfriend and we're planning to go to South America in the near future as well!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A couch, but it's a nice one! I really like to cook, so feel free to join us at the dining table. I can also show you around the city and have some coffee or a good beer (If I'm available of course!). Then I'm not talking about the Dam square, but the authentic neughbourhoods where tourists don't come! Like I said, the authentic experience.
