About Me

THE IMPORTANT DETAILS
-- Raised in the bay area
-- Public school teacher
-- Novice musician and photographer
-- A lover of the outdoors and travel of all kinds

As a teacher, I am determined to maximize my summer vacation by traveling cheaply (after all, I am a PUBLIC school teacher). Last summer I went to Israel and Greece, and this summer (2018) I will be traveling to Japan. I am enthusiastic about exploring new and different cultures, and enjoy most the interaction with locals.

Music, Movies, and Books

MOVIES: The Jungle Book, The Usual Suspects, Moonlight, Get Out,

MUSIC: Always dependent on mood, but recently I've been listening to more folk and jazz.

BOOKS: Of Mice and Men, Into the Wild, Men without Women, The Road, White Teeth, Everything I Never Told You

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I have done is backpack the Kalalau Trail in Kauai, Hawaii. It is an 11 mile hike to an isolated beach along the Napali Coast (northern most coast of the island). It was an incredibly strenuous, switch-back-filled hike, with few places to stop along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I love so much about the CS philosophy is that everyone has something unique. In many ways I am similar to most people that occupy this planet, but what I can share is mostly not practical (except for music, photography, and soccer) but theoretical. I can share a perspective, a way of living and seeing the world that others way have never thought of before. I am adopted, only live with my adopted mom, and live in a community where that is excepted and not seen as odd. However that may seem strange or uncomfortable to some, and I've learned to share my story and give people a greater understanding for another side of life. I hope to enlighten people with my stories and experiences, and that is what I hope to learn from others as well. I am very aware that everyone has their own perspective and view on life and that is what I am so interested in learning. We all have something to offer, no matter how broad or specific, relevant or extraneous, or life-changing or mundane, and all of it is valuable.
