About Me

I'm a gay tech nerd who always has cookies or bread in the oven. I've been a sociologist, a chocolate connoisseur, a singing waiter, and now I'm working on augmented reality with Microsoft (it's extremely cool!). I've been really lucky to have been able to travel to a lot of neat places and meet a lot of great people, but I'm finally trying to put down some roots here in Seattle. I can be a little reserved at first, but I promise I'll open up after a good joke or a glass of wine!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a huge fan of meeting people from different backgrounds (I was a sociology major ages ago), and Couchsurfing has been an incredible way to do that! I can't believe how many amazing people I've stayed with or had stay with me, and I'm sure there will be more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ate an entire bowl of edamame before someone told me you aren't supposed to eat the pods.

Oh, you mean not embarrassing things? I've seen the light of the blue grotto under Capri, walked through the dead city of Pompeii, played cards with children in a Romanian burn ward, bickered with nuns at midnight on the border of Turkey who refused to call Istanbul anything other than Constantinople, worked on software that's being used on the International Space Station...and the edamame thing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach...maybe some C#, how to play gonggi (Korean jacks), Italian, how to bake cookies or challah or something fun.

I want to learn about food! What's local? What makes it special? What's your favorite?
