About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Playing Shows, Living life on the road

ABOUT ME

I quit my job in February of 2013 to pursue a music career with my band, You Me & Apollo. We have been traveling throughout the country playing over 160 shows and logging 50,000 miles in 2013.

PHILOSOPHY

A girl I met in Portland told me something that she was told which was very simplistic which I nearly let slip by which is. To do something

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really just started on here but unofficially or informally I have always given rides, bought coffee, given town tours and whatever else I can do for a traveler coming into town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I finally have had my first experience with couchsurfing Portland, Oregon. It was really amazing. I came with no expectations, or so I thought. I just didn't think people would be so incredibly hospitable or caring about a total and complete stranger. I have stayed with people I felt I had a lot in common with and also people that it was hard to relate to and both were equally amazing. So I travel plane, train, or automobile, foot, bike, marsupial whatever just to learn more.

Interests

Motorcycles, Snowboarding, cooking, hearing stories from the elderly, talking about music, reading, jazz, hoosker-dos : hoosker-don'ts, obese animals, dance parties, strange foods that I haven't tried yet, substantial beards, climbing, poetry, honesty, packaging, and vintage electronics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of the people in Cambodia blew my mind. Rontinae fought for the Khamir Rouge for seven years, then against them for the next seven and then spent a few more years in a refugee camp now he works with an NGO to help enslaved women and children escape from sex slavery.

Teach, Learn, Share

Things I could do better:
1. Listen - anyone that can talk, I would love to learn and listen
2. Cook - although I enjoy cooking, I am not the best at it
3. Doing - sometimes I find I hold myself back from doing certain things...sometimes I feel people should do things just for the simple fact that they want to
