About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn, love, and adventure; to share my knowledge and my joy.

ABOUT ME

I have a lot of passions and very few hobbies. I consider myself ethical rather than moral. I'm a dual citizen of Germany and the United States, but I haven't left the US since I was seven. In three years I might be moving into a sustainable capitalist co-op community, and no, that's not an oxymoron.
I am a lover,
a queer person,
disgustingly wholesome,
a theatre kid,
a stitch witch,
a cook,
and most importantly a happy person.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is really, really interesting, and the best thing you can do is have fun with it. I almost entirely do things I feel really good about doing, and I love it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It will reveal itself as I go along.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with people I know in Portland before, and went to another couchsurfer's house to have dinner when I was here.

Interests

Learning anything, thinking, designing and sewing my own clothes, intentional community design, cooking and baking, juggling, reading and wordsmithing, sustainability, finding beauty in small things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books/Authors: Retold Arthurian legend, Robin Hood stories, and fairy tales; the Vorkosigan saga by Lois McMaster Bujold; anything by Terry Pratchett; anything by Neil Gaiman; Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance; well-crafted mystery novels; anything that is well-written with a sense of humor.
Music: My current favorites are Dar Williams, Blue Öyster Cult, the Goo Goo Dolls, Jonathan Coulton, Connemara, the Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog soundtrack, the Dresden Dolls/Amanda Palmer, anything that has hammer dulcimer in it, and ballads/story songs in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Life in general never ceases to amaze me.

One of the most awe-inspiring things to me is the relationships I have with people I love who love me too. I feel like I have a genuinely supportive and accepting network of friends, and that is more special to me than I can describe.

Teach, Learn, Share

Designing, drafting patterns for, and sewing clothes that fit (or other things.)
Editing written work.
Practicing my language skills in French and German with speakers of any level, and learning new words in any language.

Countries I’ve Visited

Germany, Netherlands

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
