Most of my core memories were made on trips with people I had just met. I tend to say yes to things before I fully think them through, and it's worked out more often than not. I'm from a small coastal city in Tunisia and I've been slowly figuring out the world ever since, through travel, through people, through a camera lens mostly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I spent time living in Cairo and it changed how I travel. Some of the best parts weren't the landmarks, they were the people I ended up camping in the Black and White Desert with at 2am, or the long conversations that started over nothing. That's what I'm looking for when I travel. Back home I've shown a lot of people around Tunisia, friends I met abroad who came to visit, and I like that side of it just as much. There's something satisfying about watching someone fall for a place you grew up in.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste is all over the place but there's a thread somewhere. Frank Ocean, Tame Impala, Radiohead, Lana Del Rey, Kanye, Lorde, the kind of music that feels like it was made for a specific mood at a specific hour. I watch a lot of TV shows, more than films honestly. I care more about how something makes you feel than whether it's critically correct.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camped in the Black and White Desert in Egypt under a sky that didn't look real. Also paraglided in Fethiye and took a hot air balloon over Luxor at sunrise. All three still feel like they happened to someone else.

Teach, Learn, Share

Filmmaking and visual storytelling, traveling around the Mediterranean on very little, and Tunisia if you're ever planning to visit. I know the country well beyond the tourist spots. On the other side I'm genuinely curious about everyday local life wherever I end up, the stuff that takes a local to show you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, local knowledge about Tunisia and North Africa, and a genuine interest in wherever I end up. I'm into filmmaking so I tend to notice things other people walk past. I can also cook something Tunisian if you're curious, nothing fancy but it'll be honest.
