About Me

About Me:
Hello! My name is Yousu, and I'm excited to be a part of the Couchsurfing community. Let me share a little bit about myself.
Background:
I was born and raised in the vibrant and culturally rich country of South Korea. Growing up in Korea, I developed a deep appreciation for my own culture and a curiosity about the world beyond. This curiosity eventually led me to pursue a degree in English education. I believe that language is not just a means of communication but also a bridge that connects people from diverse backgrounds.
International Experience:
My passion for languages and cultures has taken me on an incredible journey. I had the privilege of living in India for an extended period, where I immersed myself in the colorful tapestry of Indian culture. During my time there, I had the opportunity to explore the diverse traditions, taste the exquisite cuisine, and learn about the history and spirituality that make India so unique. This experience broadened my horizons and gave me a deep respect for cultural diversity.
Teaching:
One of my greatest joys is teaching. I find immense fulfillment in helping others learn and grow. Whether it's teaching English to non-native speakers, sharing insights about Korean culture, or even just exchanging knowledge about the world, I am always eager to engage in educational experiences. If you're interested in learning or practicing English, I'd be more than happy to help you on your language journey.

Thank you for reading😊

Cheers,
Yousu

Music, Movies, and Books

When I was in my teenage years, the book "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" helped me overcome difficulties. I was bullied at my elementary school 6th year when I came back from India. But this book really helped me overcome those traumas by accepting and forgiving my friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've opened a stationery store in Korea with my younger sister. I've learned a lot about marketing, people, and mostly about the interior.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been teaching English since I was in high school, I like to share my knowledge and cultural experience by teaching. I also love to learn new things, so I've been attending to book club every Saturday morning back in Korea.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach yoga, Korean, and I'm also really good at handcrafting.

Countries I’ve Visited

Guam, India, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Singapore, Turkey, United States, Viet Nam
