About Me

CURRENT MISSION

i want the world. i want the whole world.

ABOUT ME

i am tall, intellectual, lazy, queer, pierced, vegetarian, outgoing, colorful, &a little too obsessed with travel/cities/places that i am not.

PHILOSOPHY

my dear friend gabriel once told me life was too silly of a joke to be sad without at least being happy, too. i'd struggled with depression before that, but somehow something clicked &now i know to be so grateful for everything amazing-- &there's a lot-- that finds its way into my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

not from this website, but i've definitely stayed with people i didn't know before. on a break from new college i drove up to washington d.c. with my friends abigail, rebecca, &renee-- in a car that ran on vegetable oil. we took our time &stayed with quite a few people on the way. we also slept in the car sometimes, even when it was snowy outside, &i wish we'd had somewhere else to stay. i'd love to do someone the kind of favor others have done for me.

Interests

cultural, social, &arts movements, vegetarianism &veganism/people's reasons for these things, unitarian universalism, gender-- not as a binary, youth empowerment, my white privilege &what i should do with it, travel, cold weather, big buildings, cheap wine.

Music, Movies, and Books

rosemary's baby is my favorite movie, i think, with requiem for a dream up high on the list, too. i listen to all sorts of music but am especially into independent &alternative forms of folk &country music-- sufjan stevens is probably my favorite as i write this. i read tons of nonfiction for school but will always have a special place in my heart &ideal schedule for reading the beat writers, modernist poetry, &proust!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i went to caracas, venezuela, where i learned how incredibly privileged i am. it put my entire life into perspective.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Venezuela
