My name is Jiawei(Stacey) Yu, from mainland China.

I studied Spanish during a gap year in Valencia, España, from 2023 to 2024.
Currently, I’m traveling through Latin America from 2024 to 2025, and I’ll return to Asia for celebrating Chinese new year with my family and friends. (I really miss Europe! I really miss Spain!)

While living in Spain, I spent half of each month traveling to other European countries and the other half studying Spanish in Spain.
I'm really interested in traveling and exploring special area of cities. New things and challenges always make me feel excited and curious! I also love to know more things about culture, language, that's why I keep traveling and learning Spanish in Spain but not in my country.
And in my regular daily, I like to do sport such as go to gym, swim, hike and climb(indoor), and I'm a big fan of sunbath! I really like sun🌞!

And I'm so glad to meet so many nice-minded people from the world✌️!!

Estudié español durante un año sabático en Valencia, España, de 2023 a 2024.

Mientras vivía en España, pasé la mitad de cada mes viajando a otros países europeos y la otra mitad estudiando español en España.
Me interesa mucho viajar y explorar áreas especiales de las ciudades. Las cosas nuevas y los desafíos siempre me emocionan y me despiertan curiosidad! También me encanta aprender más sobre culturas e idiomas, por eso decidí estudiar español en España y no en mi país.

En mi vida diaria, me gusta hacer deporte, como ir al gimnasio, nadar, hacer senderismo y escalar (en interiores). Soy una adicta del sol y de tomar el sol! Me encanta el sol 🌞 haha

Me alegro de conocer a muchas personas de mentalidad similar de todo el mundo ✌️!!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

It is all about people:)
I have lived in Europe for more than one year , it was my first time to live abroad from Asia, after I had quitted my job and had been fatigued by staying with so much people in China who are anxious all the time and are obsessed with working but not thinking about taking a breath.
I really eager to meet people who have their own worldview, I really wanna see the other side of the world and of the life, so that I could trust more firmly that the world not just operate as those people said.
I am a photographer with my Phone to record the beautiful and energetic moments. It is amazing thing that be a backpacker, and I always thanks Couchsurfing helps me find different good friends here.

I would love to share my culture with the world, and I learned Spanish in Valencia because learning a new language is always the first step to get into a new culture.
When we learn a new language we are also learning a new culture and new way to see the world/to understand things.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

Language, funny story, and Chinese food( I must to say, I’m really good at cooking haha, even can cook a Chinese dish well just by looking at a recipe once), I can cook for you if I can find some food could be cooked by Chinese cooking methods 🫶🏻
