Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING:
My English teacher was one of CS members and told me about it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE:
My first guest was an American lady. She stayed here for 2 nights. Because she knows well about Japanese language and culture, spending time with her was very easy. Moreover, her personality was like a violet - soft and gentle. I liked a lot. It was like that I had known her since long time before at the end of those two days.
I have many experience now and can not tell you all ;). May be this one:
When my parents have CSers at their house for the first time, it was a huge drama for my mother. The CSers were Khaya-san and her two friends. I had hosted Khaya-san in Hokkaido before, so I thought it would be easy to handle the situation - my parents had not used to have guests from abroad. One day before they come, my mother asked me.
"Do they use slippers? These slippers would be OK for them?"
"Mom, I think they don't use them."
"But if they need them?"
"OK. Let them put here and ask them if they want to use."
"I see. Then, how about a dinner? Should we prepare some Western style one?"
"Mom, we don't need to prepare meals for CSer. Basically, we offer some space to sleep. That's all. I think preparing special things for them would be too much."
"But, Yufu-chan! There is no restaurant around here!! It would be a problem, no?"
"It could be... OK, let's prepare a nomal dinner for them and us."
"Yes, it would be fine. And, Yufu-chan..."
Khaya-san and her friends didn't use slippers, but enjoy the dinner with us. Now, my parents have used to have CSers and started to enjoy.
